Consignors are required to sign an Agreement with J. James Auctioneers & Appraisers prior to submitting items for sale at public auction stating that they are the rightful owner of the property and have good title and right to sell such property at auction. Each consignor is assigned a unique identification number in our system and will be required to provide us with up-to-date demographic information to ensure prompt payment and accurate correspondence. All consignor data is kept strictly confidential and will never be sold or shared with third-parties, except as required by law.  

Consignors who wish to withdraw lots prior to sale will be charged a withdrawal fee of $50.00 per lot (with a minimum estimate of $500.00 or less). Lots estimated above $1,000.00 will incur a 20% charge based on low estimate.  These fees must be paid prior to picking up your unsold lots. Grouping, allotment and placement of consigned goods is solely at the discretion of J. James Auctioneers & Appraisers.

Any lots passed or otherwise unsold at auction, must me collected by consignor within 30 days or will incur a fee of 20% of low estimate per month.  A release form must be consigned when collecting unsold property.

J. James Auctioneers & Appraisers strictly prohibits the unlawful practice of "bid rigging" at our sales, whereas two or more individuals agree to engage in bidding behavior with the intent to manipulate the final sale price of property offered at auction. Therefore, consignors shall not be allowed to bid on or conspire to have another party engage in this or any other unlawful practice on their behalf.

Each item consigned to us is carefully inventoried, researched, tested, measured, weighed, photographed, and cataloged. We aggressively advertise our auctions through trade publications, direct mail marketing, print and online media and social networks. We will store your items in a fully-insured, secure warehouse facility, package, transport and display them optimally for sale. All consigned goods are auctioned in an open public forum for competitive bidding by a licensed auctioneer. Our expertly trained staff will process and invoice buyers for payment on your behalf.

J. James Auctioneers & Appraisers provides all consignors with a written receipt of goods, including consignment rate and terms. Our commission rate covers the cost of insurance as well as storage and marketing your items for sale. There is no additional charge for these services. After the auction is complete, Consignor settlement checks are processed within 21-days of payment received and include a detailed statement of goods with sale price, less commission.
